There are several types of hair remover that are currently available on the market. Most of these are depilatory creams, but you can also find waxes and various gadgets. It all depends on the area you want to make hair-free and the amount and type of hair you have in that place.

The depilatory cream is the most often purchased form of hair remover and has been around for many decades. It can come in a bottled lotion format, as well as cream in a tube or tub. The second largest type of hair remover is a hair removal wax. This also is applied directly to the skin needing to be treated and then a strip of cloth is pressed onto the wax. Some waxes are meant to be warmed in a microwave first, and some can be applied cold. Once the strip is quickly ripped away from the skin, the hair - roots and all - should follow. You may experience a similar sharp sting as when removing an adhesive strip. The pain is the usual reason for people opting on alternatives to waxing, now that waxing can be performed at home for a fraction of the cost of a salon treatment. It is best to thoroughly read the instruction booklet first, especially if you have not experienced a waxing treatment at a salon formerly.

Hair remover gadgets have crept onto the market recently, offering what many companies claim to be painless and permanent treatment for hair removal problems. Some of these hair removers are based on similar principles to electrolysis is generating a current of energy that heats the root of the hair and kills the hair at the root. It should be noted that these gadgets do not work on every skin and hair type, but if you truly seek a long term or permanent hair removal solution to your hair problem, they might be worth consideration.
