Breast Lift

Can a Breast Lift Help?

When most people think about cosmetic surgery involving breasts, they often think about people getting implants. This is not always the case.  Your breasts may be a perfect size exactly as they are, you may simply want to help lift them to cure the sagging they may be experiencing.  In this instance, instead of a full augmentation, you should simply be concerned about lifting them to help them display their natural beauty.  A number of different factors will come into play regarding a lifting procedure.

When you decide to get a breast lift, you will have a few different things that you need to think about.  The size of the breasts may or may not be an issue.  If you are comfortable with the size of your breasts, you may not need to alter them, although some women receive implants or breast reduction during their lift.  The shape of the breasts may be an issue which affects the degree of lift as well.  You may wish to have your breasts sculpted during your surgery.  Finally, you will need to consider the placement of the nipple after the surgery.  As your breasts will be lifted and reshaped, you will want to make sure your nipple will be in a place you are comfortable with.

Light scarring will be an issue after a breast lift.  The number of incisions which will need to be made will largely depend on the degree of lift which you are having performed.  These incisions end up forming flaps which will contain the excess skin that is going to be removed during a breast lift.  This removal of skin will stretch the breasts tighter and lift them from the sagging position they were once occupying on your chest.

Recovery time will be essential after a breast lift procedure.  You can expect your breasts to be bruised, swollen, and sore for at least a few days after surgery.  You will need at least a full week of rest after the surgery before you return to your job and you shouldn't participate in any heavy lifting for at least a month after your procedure.  As your normal range of activity starts to return, however, your lifted breasts will start to be noticed.  You can start to feel more confident about the state of your body and you should see increased self-esteem after this.  That's what makes this cosmetic surgery a procedure great choice for so many women.
