How Breast Augmentation Works

During a breast augmentation procedure, a breast implant will be inserted either over the muscle of the breast or behind the tissue that makes up the breast.  Different sizes, shapes, and materials can all be used in these breast implants.  They can also be placed in different positions to receive a different range of effects.  The trick is to include the breast implants while still leaving the breasts looking as natural as possible.

A breast lift is commonly done in conjunction with breast augmentation, helping to remove the sagging nature that often comes about as the body ages.  Some breast tissue will be removed as the new implant is inserted.  The skin will then be tightened and this will help lift the breasts up, making them higher and more perky on your frame.  This will help your implants given during the augmentation to have the greatest level of success.

Breast augmentation surgery will naturally result in some scarring left behind.  The cosmetic surgeon will do their best to make sure that these scars are as inconspicuous as possible.  They will do their best to hide these small scars in places where they would not be easily noticed, usually under the arm of inside a skin fold at the base of the breasts.  This will help you look as if your breasts are completely natural, which is the intended effect.  After this cosmetic surgery, you will hopefully start turning heads and making the impression that you've always wanted to make!
